municipal Court Information

 The Municipal Court is the judicial branch of the government of the City of Ivanhoe.  It is committed to administering justice in a fair, efficient, and timely manner.  Court services are increasingly available online, by telephone, email, and through the mail which contributes to compliance in a customer service way.

The Municipal Court is responsible for the disposition of Class C misdemeanors and other state and city ordinance violations which are punishable by fine only.

Ivanhoe Municipal Court has jurisdiction over Class C Misdemeanor criminal cases, including traffic violations, with a maximum fine upon conviction that does not exceed $500.00 plus court costs. The Court also has jurisdiction over cases involving City ordinances, which may have fines up to $2,000 plus court costs.

The Municipal Court does not handle divorce cases, child support, marriage licenses, or birth certificates. The Municipal court will perform marriage ceremonies.

Plea/fines

Notice: Payment of fine will result in a plea of Nolo Contendere being entered on your behalf.

You must contact the court on or before the Appearance Date on your citation.

​

IF YOU ARE UNDER 17 YEARS OF AGE:  You cannot pre-pay the fine by mail or in person.  State law requires that you must appear before the Judge.  Please contact the court before the Appearance Date on your citation to make an appointment to appear with a parent or legal guardian.

ANSWERING YOUR CHARGE BY MAIL:  To pay by mail, send a cashier’s check or money order with your plea form by the Appearance Date on the citation to: Ivanhoe Municipal Court, 870 Charmaine Dr. East, Woodville, TX 75979.
